Me, my wife and our 2 year old son is going to Paris for 3 days in March. For the 3 of us, it is our first time and we are just wondering if anyone could offer us any advice on our 3 day itinerary. What we should see, what we should avoid, good places to eat etc.? We arrive early and is staying at Mercure Haussmann Saint Augustin hotel. We love walking and seeing landmarks and not too much high in museums but would go to must see ones if there is time.
Also, we arrive really early (7am local time) so we probably will just drop off our stuff in the hotel then head off). Considering we have our 2 yr old son with us, what is the best way get around the city?
Thanks so much for whatever information you can share!3 Day itinerary in Paris help!?
As you're travelling with a 2 years old little kid, I think your program will mostly depend on your son's rythm and not that much running from one monument to the other. The good thing is that your hotel is at a central location, you can walk to some places, take the bus - I think it's a good option for your son or take the tube.
Your hotel is close to Saint Augustin square, where many buses stop.
Bus 84, direction Porte de Champerret, get off at Ruysda毛l Monceau = to go to Monceau Park = one of the most beautiful Parisian parks, lots of children, a pond with ducks. Outside the park, at the corner of Avenue Messine and Place de Rio de Janeiro, there are 2 bistrots and a restaurant. You can also walk from your hotel to the park.
Same bus, 84, but direction Panth茅on, get off at Jardin de Luxembourg = lovely garden, kids and a big fountain. Same bus and direction but get off at Concorde square = this is one of the most beautiful squares of Paris and on your left, there's Tuileries gardens, great place for children, there's a fountain with little sailing boats for the children.
Bus 22, direction Porte de Saint Cloud, get off at Trocad茅ro = to see the Eiffel tower
Bus 22, direction Op茅ra = to see the Op茅ra Garnier theatre or to go shoppong to Galleries Lafayette or Printemps department stores.

If you're tired and just want to eat near your hotel : there's a good Chinese restaurant at rue de la Bo茅tie, just opposite the entrance to Miromesnil tube station. You can also buy food to take away and ask your hotel's reception to give you dishes.
You can also ask the receptionnist to order food :

When visiting Saint Louis island, go to Berthillon, typic Parisian ice cream maker, nice place to seat and relax. Good cakes and fruit juices also. 29 rue Saint Louis en l'Ile, 75004 www.berthillon.com
At St Louis island, there are many places to eat cr锚pes, also bistrots, caf茅s and restaurants.
There's a nice tea room at Trocad茅ro square, "Carette", good macarons and other pastries, also some special menus or sandwiches for lunch.
At Saint Augustin square, there's a big supermarket, Monoprix. Open Monday to Saturday, they close at about 10 PM.
In front of the entrance to park Monceau, at 43 rue de Lisbonne, there's a Monop' supermarket. Not a big one but they sell the essential and many things to take away or to heat on their micro wave oven, there are some high chairs to take a seat and a coffee.
There are pharmacies at avenue de Messine, on the way between saint Augustin square and Monceau park.
Buy the plan of the streets of Paris, better than the one that the hotel will give you, you can find it at any newspaper's shop.3 Day itinerary in Paris help!?
Temperature in March will be cool but not cold. The average daily high is about 52F degrees. Expect brief showers at least 1 of those 3 days.
That said, Paris is really quite a geographically small city and a delightful place to walk because the density of interesting sites is very high.
If you start at Notre Dame in the very center of the city on the 脦le de la Cit茅 you can make a circuit of the city seeing (in this order) Ste. Chapelle, the Conciergerie, the Parc du vert Galant, Chatelet, the Louvre, Arc du Carousel, Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde, L'茅glise de la Madeleine, Elysee Palace, Champs-脡lys茅es, Arc de Triomphe, Place du Trocad茅ro, Palais de Chaillot, Tour Eiffel, Champs de Mars, Peace memorial, Military Academy, Les Invalides, Military Museum, tomb of Napoleon, Rodin Museum, Pont Alexandre III, Mus茅e d'Orsay, Place St. Michel, Place de Petit Pont (at which point you will be able to see Notre Dame across the river.
Follow this route, stop when you see something that really interests you and seems to merit going inside. Grab a table at the nearest cafe whenever you need a break or it starts to rain or you feel like having a coffee or maybe a sandwich.3 Day itinerary in Paris help!?
It's about a half hour walk from your hotel but you MUST go eat at Chartiers restaurant. Cheap, good and I challenge you not to be absolutely amazed by it ;-)

Bonne vacances
Walking with a stroller, play it by ear. There is much to see within one mile of The Arc de Triomphe, Paris France.
